I paint quickly and directly from life, trying to catch people and places as they are in the moment—walking along the beach, kids chasing a soccer ball, the quiet rhythm of farm life, or the bustle of city streets. Working fast lets me capture the energy and movement before it’s gone.
I build color simply, layering primaries: starting with yellows, then adding reds and blues until the scene comes together. I leave the whites of the paper open, letting the light stay alive, and where something needs more definition, I bring it out lightly with pencil.
These paintings are about noticing — being present with the small, passing moments that make up daily life and sharing a glimpse of what it feels like to be there.
